This is the page that will help you get to know the team, coach, what we do, and how we do it.
Intro: We are the Rogers Royals Golf Team. We are entering our 6th season coming into 2011. The team has had good success in the first five years: shooting a team career low one under par 287 at Pebble Creek Golf Club; two section individual champions, one team section championship; one second place finish at state; one Tri-State Invitational Championship. The team also has graduated two individual golfers to Division One college golf programs.
The Teams: Rogers Golf consists of 16 golfers. Two teams, JV and Varsity each playing 6 players for every varsity and junior varsity meet. The 4 guys who didn't play in the JV meet will have a chance at practice (in between meets) to qualify for the next meet. The top two JV players can qualify for the next varsity meet in challenge matches against the 5th and 6th varsity players.
The Coaches: We currently have three coaches (Coach Bursheim -Varsity, Coach Klabunde -Junior Varsity, and Matt Johnson -
Assistant/Swing Coach). The coaches have a great knowledge of the game and provide an excellent resource when you're in need of swing tips or help with the mental side of the game. They show great devotion to the team and the team's success.
The Course: The Golf Team plays and practices at Fox Hollow Golf Club located in Rogers, MN. It has 27 holes, an original 18 (Front/Back), and a Gold Nine which also can be played in reverse also called the Black Nine. It has been one of the most challenging courses in the Mississippi 8 conference and it has a good reputation as a place to play.
